Q: Why was the ERF established?

A: The Fund is intended to provide basic necessities to persons who have encountered financial hardship for reasons beyond their control and/or provide temporary relief to meet life necessities of persons who are needy and distressed due to a disaster.

Q: How can I make a donation?

A: Donations can be made by check, money order, credit card or payroll donation. Just complete a pledge card and return it to your ERF coordinator. Credit card contributions can be made online through our secure donation form.

Q: Where do I get a pledge card?

A: During the campaign period you can get a pledge card from your ERF coordinator. At other times you can print a donation card or make a credit card contribution at our internet site through our secure server.

Q: Where do I send my pledge card and donation?

A: You may return your pledge card to your ERF coordinator during the campaign period. If you wish to make a donation at another time, you may mail it directly to: International Paper ERF Collection Account, P.O. Box 341729, Memphis, TN 38184-9424. Credit card donations can be made online at any time. (Note: Since payroll deductions begin in January and end in December, pledges for payroll deduction must be received no later than November 5. Check, money order and credit card donations can be made at any time.)

Q: Is my donation tax deductible?

A: Yes, the Employee Relief Fund is set up as an IRS 501(c)(3) public charity, which makes it tax exempt organization for those individuals that file taxes with the US government. A letter confirming donations will be sent to all employees making a donation. Employees outside the U.S. will need to investigate any tax benefits/liabilities their donation may have by reviewing their country's laws.

Q: Can employees outside the United States make a contribution to the ERF?

A: Yes, the fund is set up so International Paper employees around the globe can make a contribution via payroll deduction, check or credit card. Employees making a contribution through ERF will take advantage of the company's dollar-for-dollar match on all gifts.
